  • History of the Counsulate
The Consulate has been around for a little bit less time than Xandran‘s Royal House. The country felt that politics with royal houses was too asinine to be able to manage, noting the differences between the Avourdipous and Bisclavret houses, and decided that keeping different people in with different ideals would establish a better system. It would work as, most communities would elect one person to go to the capital and serve as the representative of their town or city. This has worked great for keeping the public’s mindset of being involved, but in all reality, it causes much more bickering.
The Consulate is set up so that Councilors may vote on laws, issues, mandates, and the appointing of members to government faculty. The Head Councilor runs the meetings, and is the only one who can decide on a tie-breaker. Councilors are elected once every 5 years, and serve a 5 year term. The Head Councilor rotates every 2 years, and new members may not be the Head Councilor unless they have served for two years.
  • Country Matters
The Consulate rules over the entirety of the country, but from city-to-city, there is a noble family that tends to manage the city. In the cases of elected communities, that noble’s family or an appointed family serves as the Lord of that town. Outside of those communities, the noble family is determined by The Consulate. That family divides themselves into 3 roles: Lord (determines smaller laws, manages the town), Judge (Deals with criminals with how they see fit), and Money Maker (makes suggestions for the town in terms of items to sell or trade, gives economic advice).
Crime-wise, the country’s punishments are usually lax but are overly complicated, due to an indecisive nature of many of the avians who live in the region
Economically speaking, Talbia is very renowned for their mineral resources, mineral refineries, rare mountainous herbs, exotic plants, exotic foods, and fishing. They do not currently have any gem mines, but they do have some salt mines. They also do have a trade route established with Xandran by the sea.
Politically speaking, Talbia keeps a strong healthy relationship with Xandran, as a result of the trading route. Relations with Equestria remain on a need-to-have basis, in terms of trading and the like, but remains relatively peaceful. Dolach tends to not really get along well with Talbia due to the Consulate’s “flighty nature”, but they are not specifically aggressive.
The country is also home to The Elemental Circle, a group of powerful Elementalists who protect the secrets of the elemental arts, so that untrustworthy people do not get access to their powerful spells. They do not accept seeking members, but instead seek out and find people themselves to enter their sacred team.
Religiously, the country tends to focus on Azerhod, Vairos, LightMachine, Calroc, and in a lesser sense, Gylere. They do not believe in the superstitions of Zielvin, and believe that Zielvin is a sleeping Goddess
